Ok, so technically this isn’t a ‘finished piece’ portfolio item but as I think that a colour guide tile can be beautiful in its own way I reckon it deserves a place here. Not only is creating it a therapeutic endeavour, but it’s also a time stamp of my current paint palette. It somehow feels akin to needlework samplers which, although a basic test of knowledge and skill done in nurseries and with governesses the world over, still somehow seem to have their own very personable sense of the beautiful.
